I have been using one of these in friends houses for years. It does help to keep the steam in while also stopping splatters. It fits a large plate 10.5" diameter perfectly and smaller plates just fit all the way inside. I do wish they had a taller product for taller items. I have found some other taller covers since I purchased this one. If I had seen them first I would have purchased them but I do not regret my purchase.

Pros: Durable, stain resistant.

Cons: Like other reviewers said, the cover is too short. There are exactly 2" of clearance beneath the middle of the cover, which means that if you're microwaving food heaped up on a plate or virtually anything in a bowl, the cover is going to be in your food. This gets to be downright maddening.

These covers are good. I wish they were a little bit wider. They are easy to clean, resist stains, and last under a large amount of heat.

If I had wanted this item for myself it would have been great, but my purchase was for my mother-in-law who has a more expensive lifestyle than my own so when I received it in the mail I wasn't satisfied with it because it has lost it's shape and wouldn't sit flat on a flat surface. I ended up keeping it for myself and gave one to my daughter and we love it. It was cheap and worth the price
