A most useful tool for working with any kind of poultry. Very handy for cutting away the backbone. Goes quickly through poultry skin and soft bones ... cuts easily and better than a knife. Great product. After washing it, make sure it's thoroughly clean and dry before closing and storing away to avoid any rusty parts.

I'm fairly certain that most positive reviews for these shears were written shortly after purchase/first use. The steal spring rusts quickly, affecting the ability of the shears to open and close and making them ineffective and even unsafe to operate. On top of this problem, the locking mechanism on the shears becomes "sloppy" after some use, frequently locking the blades without the user touching the locking mechanism. Overall a poor set of shears and a disappointing set given how well Henckels' knives perform.

As with all Zwilling JA Henckels cutlery, these poultry shears are excellent quality. I cook a lot of chicken and hunt for and cook wild game birds, and these shears never fail. They are comfortable to use and most importantly, they simply work well.

We bought this item to cut up poultry and other meats but it is not very sharp. I as a man have to use a lot of force to get it to cut through chicken joints and my wife can't do it at all. The handle design does not allow for a very good grip and my hand slips off all the time. I would not recommend these to anyone.
